In Genoa

Well Folks....

I made it. I finally made it. It was a great experience being on an
endless ocean for 13 days. I experienced the most beautiful sunrises,
sunsets, and also a night so starry it was like a blanket with
gazillions of holes in it was covering the bottom of heaven.

stunning.

The two pictures in this post are the view from the front door of my
hotel, and a side view of the ship that I will be on for the next
year.

My immediate boss is still in Texas because of the Volcano, but his
boss is here, and him and I went to our offices near the dock today.
We met with some people that work for the miami office. I also met the
captain. A very tall Russian man.

The company that has our boat hostage, I mean that is building it,
requires strict safety precautions. So I had to get fitted for my
very own deep blue onsie, and steel toe boots. I had to borrow a hard
hat because they don't have any new ones in at the moment.

So once I got all safty-ed out, we headed to the boat. There were at
least 200 people on the ship doing all the flooring, wall fixtures,
walls to be tiled, etc. My boss and I, his name is Ian, went to each
area that we have Audio/Visual equipment in. I went to pretty much
every deck on the ship checking out the various AVL set-ups. We also
went through the bridge and that was straight baller. Diamonds on my
food baller.

We ended at the theatre. The 2 posts before this one have a few pics
of that room. The audio system is installed, flushed, and good to go.
They are finishing up the DMX for the lighting system, and they have
quite a bit of video to do.

And since they still have alot to do, and because there is alot of
flooring, and various things to be tiled, we dont have alot to do on
the boat yet.

so I have been delegated to some administrative work today. I am
compiling a master list of all our loose gear that will be in excess
of installed gear. FUN.

well peeps that is all for this week. I will tell tales of my life in
a foreign land next week!!

ciao!

Chadillac
